As you journey through the garden to uncover the secrets of your miniature adventure, you will cling to your trusty axe. However, if you want to chop down Husky Weeds and Toadstools, you need to upgrade to the Insect Axe. This guide will cover everything that you need to know to get a better axe (the Insect Axe) in Grounded.
How To Unlock The Insect Axe Recipe
To unlock the recipe for the Insect Axe, you need to analyse one of the ingredients needed to craft it. These are:
- Ladybug Head – learn how to kill Ladybugs here.
- Bombardier Part – find and kill Bombardier Beetles with this guide.
- Silk Rope – find our Silk Rope Guide here.
Analysing one of the above items will unlock the Insect Axe in your crafting menu. However, before you can craft it, you need to gather all of the above ingredients. Use the guides above to find out how to get them all.

How To Craft The Insect Axe
When you have the ingredients, you can make the Insect Axe. However, this isn’t as simple as using the crafting menu in your inventory, like with the regular Pebblet Axe. To get the tier 2 Insect Axe, you need to use a Workbench. The Workbench is a crafting station that allows you to make better gear. It is needed for many other items, such as the Insect Hammer and the Mint Mace.
To get the Workbench, you need to get the following materials:
- Grass Plank (x3)
- Sprig (x4)
- Sap (x2)
With those items, you can make the Workbench in your crafting menu and then use it to craft the Insect Axe.
That’s everything that you need to know to get a better axe in Grounded. Have you tried the latest Grounded update? Let us know in the comments down below, or over on our Discord, where you can join our growing community!
