Well, yeah….that certainly happened! After much discussion and rumors about this being a thing, Dead Space is officially coming back with a remake. This is quite big considering what happened to Visceral Games. But it’s back in full swing and we get to see a trailer for it that was shown at EA Play 2021. The game is being developed by Motive Studios, the one’s behind Star Wars Squadrons and Star Wars Battlefront II (2017).

No gameplay was shown but what we did get was a whole minute of tension. Very static camera shots with very unsettling and creepy sounds throughout. By the end, we get a shot of good ol’ Isaac getting his suit ready before we cut to the title. It’s not exactly a terrifying trailer, but it’s effective in what it set out to do: a tension filled showcase to show Dead Space is back with a vengeance. Especially with that shot of Isaac at the end.

Now will this remake be good? We can only wait until we get to play it ourselves. But from this trailer, it certainly shows the creepy tone Dead Space is known for and that’s a good start. Unfortunately, we don’t know when the remake will come out so we’ll have to wait and see. We’re just glad that this franchise is coming back from the brink. However, being apprehensive still makes sense because of the publishers history. So we’ll just have to wait to see how it turns out.

What do you guys think about this unveil? Are you excited about the franchise coming back? Apprehensive or skeptical of the new developer taking on the reigns? Whatever your thoughts and feelings may be, let us know what you think about the announcement and revival of Dead Space with a remake.
